How do I get good at golf quickly?

I am 14 years old and short 5'0. I am going to try out for the high school golf team which I need a score between 85-92 to get in. I started golf about 2 months ago and am OK for a beginner. I have until the end of August that is a little under 8 mos. Is it possible to get the score I am hoping for or do I have to be a natural Tiger Woods. How do I get good at golf quickly?I suppose it depends on your target Score......anything is possible if you are willing to devote the time necessary to acquire the skill set required. 7 Months is not a lot of time...but its possible. It would require probably lessons and extensive dedicated practice. Oh and there is no such thing as a natural....Tiger was trained from an early age by his dad.How do I get good at golf quickly?
You can do it.

85-92 is manageable. You will need to perform under pressure, so your goal should be to break 85 consistently (50% of the time or more).

You need to start by working on fundamentals. Read all the books you can find on golf. Work on grip, stance, rhythm and consistency. Become a very good putter. Work hard on short game! You must be able to get “up and down”. Power is important too. You will need some gym time, and lots of flexibility. Lessons are highly recommended.

How much time? That depends on you physical ability. A natural athlete (someone big, strong and coordinated) could pick it up in no time. Some could spend a lifetime and never break 100. You will never know until you try. Your young give it a shot. There is nothing to be afraid of.How do I get good at golf quickly? If you have access to a golf coarse you better start practicing like yesterday..You need to have parents hire you a professional to get a few lessons..From that point its all playing and practicing..Hopefully you live in a warm climate to actually golf this time of year...Natural ability will get you there ....Im guess you focus playing all the time and if you don't make it..Then you keep praciticing and gun for next year..Your young..go for it,don't get upset if you fail this year..Make it a passion and you'll be on that golf team..
if u have only been playing for two months and you are expecting to shoot between 85 and 92 in 8 months time then you need to work hard, very hard. you need to spend hours practicing every other day workingon all aspects of your game. dont take any lessons from anyone. you should be able to discover your own game in 8 months time and try to get it as best as it can be. what you have to understand is that golf is the hardest most frustrating game in the world and that when you hit a bad shot you can not get angry, you have to realise that you havnt played long enough for everthing to work all the time, infact unless your a pro then you never going to have 3 rounds in a row where you play awesome, with your height and age you are not going to be able to hit the ball far so what is very important is that you dont try and hit the ball too hard. the most important thing for you is to keep it in play and make sure that you constantly play the easiest shot, for example if you were 15 yards out playing a chip shot over a bunker to the pin, then think about it, the chances of you getting the ball over the bunker to within a few feet is pretty low, so what you should do is hit it round the bunker where you can two put. always take the easiest option and keep the ball in play and with alot of practice you should get your target score. How do I get good at golf quickly?Absolutely, it's very doable. My daughter started two years ago January and after 11 months, she was a 9.5 handicap. In less than two years, she is now a 4.6. The key is LESSONS from a GOOD pro. And you must practice between lessons. Also, you need to take short game lessons, not just lessons at the range. Efficiency is important. Best to hit every day, but make your practice efficient. I would think that 30-45 minutes per day practice, plus 9 holes once or twice a week would work well. Overall fitness training helps too.

But, you must find a GOOD pro. Not all are good. Try to find someone who wants you to learn the right way, rather than give quick fixes. How do I get good at golf quickly?
practise properly. don't set too high of a goal the first year. 85-92 in 8 mo is possible but you gotta play smart. and practise everything. on the range practise like you are playing a round. hit the bunkers and green too. first year i went from 120 to 90 had one game i got 86. i also played 40 rounds and every other day at the range.
Your best bet would be to take lessons. You can try on your own, but without experience, I think you would have a difficult time determining what to practice and how to manage your game on the course. Aside from a teaching Pro, experience in your best teacher. How do I get good at golf quickly?
work your *** off. as I did, now I can shoot par and a half golf. I have been playing for 3 years.
