There are two courses in the HOTEL ZONE of Cancun. Pok-Ta-Pok and the Hilton. There are other courses, but you would have to travel out of the hotel zone. Pok-ta-pok is the cheaper of the two and the easier one. PTP is very scenic and has views of the ocean.
Hilton is very expensive and NO views of the ocean. Your buddies would have a better time at PTP. If your buddies are 25 handicappers they aren't going to want to waste $200 greens fees to go chilli dipping at the Hilton. My advice go to PTP since it's a real Mexican course.
