I need to buy some golf clubs, where do i start?

I am going to play golf for my school this fall. I have no idea how to play. But I'm going to learn. But before all that, I need equiptment. I found some clubs on clearance for 119.99 original 345.99. They're ladies right hand, 18 piece set, Produced by Cougar, the X-Cat series. Is this a good deal?? Are they crappy clubs? Or are they sufficient for a beginner? Or should i spend a little more to get better quality?? And if so, what would you recomend?

Thank You for your time, and your help! It's greatly appreciated!I need to buy some golf clubs, where do i start?Check Ebay for a good set, make sure though your getting the real clubs and not some clones.I need to buy some golf clubs, where do i start?
Any clubs that are inexpensive are a good place to start. Ebay, pawn shops, even pro shops sell used clubs. Don't go and buy expensive clubs because you'll only grow out of them and waste your money. Don't give in to peer pressure to do it either.

During the summer, get them fitted so that you're not spraying them all over the place because of the clubs. Check with the golf pro at one of you're local courses and he/she will either do it themselves or know someone reputable who can.

go torockbottomgolf .com you can find a good set of Adams for about 100.usd callawaypreowed.com maybe look at a pair of clones,at golf factoryditect.com or golfworks.comI need to buy some golf clubs, where do i start?Start out with an inexpensive set such as the one you mentioned. You stated you have no idea how to play, so there is no use in spending a great deal of money until you have an understanding of how to hold and swing the club. Golf is difficult and can be expensive if you go the route of taking lessons. Once your game improves, you can invest in a brand name set of clubs.I need to buy some golf clubs, where do i start?
Go with the clearance clubs ....at least until you decide if you like the game.....then you can enter the endless search for the perfect equipment.
Try Calloways. They are called cavity backs which are thicker and easier to hit. avoid the mizunos titeleist and taylormade until your more experienced btw.I need to buy some golf clubs, where do i start?
Hey I bought my dad a very expensive nice set for just over 100.00 with cart and all on Ebay and they all are worth over 900.00 I was very pleased so that is a nice place to check out. Good luck and hope you have a lot of fun
Cougars is a good brand for a beginner. If they aren't used, that is a pretty decent offer. If you want to search for more deals your best bet would be eBay.com . They have great deals on clubs that would be better than Cougars and aren't that expensive.
