How can I make a golf ball heavier (at home)?

I'm currently working on a Rube Goldberg machine for a project at home and I need to make a golf ball heavier in order for it to work at one part of the experiment. It has to be able to roll though. Any suggestions? Thank you!How can I make a golf ball heavier (at home)?Today there are many types of golf balls on the market. Pretty much all golf balls fall into one of two categories: Wound balls have a rubber or sometimes liquid core surrounded by strips of rubber that look something like a rubber band. This is encased with the classic hard dimpled shell. Non-wound balls have a similar design but feature a solid core.

The core is not hollow, but the core is not near as heavy as a metal would be.

Cutting the golf ball in half would be a start, then dig out what is in the middle. Then try to find a heavy metal ball that will fit inside. But make sure that the inside is completely filled up or the ball will wobble and not roll right. How can I make a golf ball heavier (at home)? They are hollow, so cut in half, or drill a hole. Then fill with something heavy: sand, water, you could even melt metal and pour some in if you want to be really hardcore.

Thinking about it, a fine saw then fill with sand and glue the halves back together would probably be easiest. How can I make a golf ball heavier (at home)? You could look for a similar sized pool ball and cut off the outside of the golf ball before re-glueing it onto the pool ball. Or you could modify whatever it is you want the golf ball to do to make it need less weight in the ball. e.g. use a lever or ramp, etc. Or, could you redesign it to use two gold balls at that point? Either glue two together so they roll next to each other like a golf ball Segway or make two balls follow each other down the same track.

Put a picture somewhere of your design and point the question to it.
