I've been hitting golf balls off of mats all my life but now all of a sudden maybe 2 weeks ago all I do is top them 10 yards or super slice them 50 yards or chunk them. But on the course I am fine. I just shot an 85 the other day. I don't understand what is going on. Is it mental? Why have I all of a sudden become unable to hit a golf ball off of a mat?VOL,are you upset that day?Why have I all of a sudden become unable to hit a golf ball off of a mat?
Jeremy, the hard surface of the mat may cause you to want to lift the club a little and also lift your head which will make the club blade hit off the ball. Try count to five after hitting the ball before looking where it went. This will force you to remain in position when swing at the ball.
Spartawo...Why have I all of a sudden become unable to hit a golf ball off of a mat?It is probably mental. just look up how to keep your head down during the golf swing, the reason why your topping is probably because your looking where the ball is going when you hit it. Next time just step up to the mat with confidence and you'll do just fine. Why have I all of a sudden become unable to hit a golf ball off of a mat?
Absolutely. You probably just had the ball too forward in your stance. I always suggest moving the ball back to the spot you made contact to the ground. Why have I all of a sudden become unable to hit a golf ball off of a mat?I heard Michael J. Fox has the same problem
