What are some different types of golf tournaments beside superball or net best ball?

I am setting up a golf tournament for my league with only about 16 guys and want to play something different than the standard superball or best ball play. And ideas? What are some different types of golf tournaments beside superball or net best ball?To me, the most fun format is a 4 man scramble. You just take the best shot from each player.

Chicago is fun for individual play. There is less pressure than stroke play. You get points based on your score on each hole. You get 8 points for an eagle, 4 for birdie, 2 for par, and 1 for bogey. You can just pick up if you get worse than bogey, so it doesn't hurt you if you hit in the water three times or whatever...no biggie. :o)

Another fun one is Lone Wolf. One person plays stroke play. The others play a 3 man scramble. The Lone Wolf alternates.

There are plenty of others, but those are a few good formats.

Another variant of stroke play, the Modified Stableford method, awards points on each hole in relation to par and then adds the points over a round; for more details on this method, see the article on The INTERNATIONAL, a tournament that uses Modified Stableford scoring.
