What is an ideal 9 hole golf score for a high school golfer?

I am going into high school next year and I hit in the low 90's, high 80's on 18 and low to mid 40's on 9. What is a good 9 hole score to make a high school golf team. What is an ideal 9 hole golf score for a high school golfer? It really depends on the area. If you live in a big state like Texas or Florida you would get cut right away because their varsity teams are mostly 5 handicap golfers or better and their junior varsity can usually shoot in the high 70s and low 80s. If you work hard and improve your scores it won't matter because people that can shoot in the 70s will make a team. I live in New Hampshire and this past year I was 5th on my varsity team with an average of about 48 on 9 holes. (This is awful for me or anyone really.) I have only been playing golf for a little over a year and a half and we had a crappy team but this year my average is a 41 (83 on 18 holes) and I am second on the team. I live in a small state so there is not as many stellar golfers as in big states. I suggest you go and try out because if you make it, great. If you don't make it it isn't the end of the world because you tried and if you can break 90 you are already better than about half the golfers in the world. Good luck! What is an ideal 9 hole golf score for a high school golfer?
It really depends on the school. If you hit around 90 for 18 you should make the squad but whether you start or not is another story. I had shot upper 40s last year and was between #1 and #2 on the golf rotation. If you were at my school you would probably be right there with me. Maybe better. If you are talking states in my county and state you need to average under 40 for the season and the winner last year shot like a 35 on 9 or somthing like that. (-1) par...But overall, yeah that is a pretty good score. Only 10% of golfers can break 100 on a course and under 90 is about 2%. Keep at it, get lessons, and good luck! What is an ideal 9 hole golf score for a high school golfer?Depends on how long you have been playing.

I Have a Handicap of 7 and the par of my home course is 70 therefore i would need to go around in 77 shots over 18 hole to play to my handicap.

It would seem that your handicap would be between 15 and 20 which is good if you are just starting out, and with practice you can become a lot better,

Remember that the best way to get a good score is having a solid short game, so practice those short puts and green side chips and you could be shooting in the 70's in no time. :-)
For JV its usually about 45 is the average and for varsity its %26lt;36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41,42What is an ideal 9 hole golf score for a high school golfer?Depends on the school size! I am on a varsity team now shooting mid 80's. i know schools that are only sub 80's for varsity and i know kids that are on varsity that are still shooting triple digits. What is an ideal 9 hole golf score for a high school golfer?
