What US cities have the best and most amount of affordable public golf courses?

If you've traveled a lot for work and played golf across the country, let me know what region or what cities have the most amount of courses per capita.

I used to live in Atlanta and we had the worst municipal courses anywhere. I like California and Florida. What US cities have the best and most amount of affordable public golf courses?I don't have data, but I know I've played a lot of golf in the Washington DC area for under $60 for 18 with a cart. There's a course in southeast that is nice, and northern virginia has good number of public courses and inexpensive private (but not member-only) courses. Pohick is tight, long enough, and challenging. I can find fairly cheap golf in a lot of places around here, though often you need a reservation on weekends. There are also plenty of driving ranges and a few 'golf centers' that are driving ranges with tracking devices on the balls so you can compete against others at the range. What US cities have the best and most amount of affordable public golf courses?Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
