How do you decide to draw or fade your golf shot?

I just learned how to draw and fade my golf shot but I still don't know when I should use these shots. I am asking for pointers on when it is appropriate to use these shots (other than rescue shots). How do you decide to draw or fade your golf shot?Let logic be your guide...fading or drawing a golf ball depends on shape of the green, pitch, hazards, rough, bunkers, water, pin placement...good luckHow do you decide to draw or fade your golf shot?
First, congrats on learning to work your ball. Draws will tend to produce a lower ball flight and roll more upon landing and conversely, a fade will fly higher and tend to stop more quickly. While it's great to have those in your arsenal, it's better to use either only when it's necessary, or as a conservative (middle of the green approach shot) to spin toward a left, or right tucked pin. A nice draw on your drives should produce a bit more distance through roll and use that shot unless the fairway dictates something else. Be careful though not to "fall in love" with working the ball unnecessarily. Always hit a straight shot when a straight shot will do the job. If you can hit the ball straight, that should always be your first choice as it will produce the most consistent distances for each of your irons. Most really good players tend to hit most of their chips and pitches with a slightly open club face as that position of the face give the ball more surface area to climb and therefore will produce more spin upon landing. Great job and best of luck. How do you decide to draw or fade your golf shot?Welcome to a new level in golf. There are variables involved in deciding which shot to use. Pin right or left we all know the rules but other factors influence shot making as well. Distance, ball lie, green slope, fairway slope, side hill lies, and wind all have to be calculated before a shot is played. First determine which is your strongest shot pattern (money shot) and work from there. Play to your strength not weakness. If a draw is your best shot then use it when ever possible, but only use the fade when you have more than enough room for error. Experience will be YOUR best teacher for shot making. And for the answer of playing a straight ball, golf balls curve and it is always best to work your ball into the hole because it is a more consistent mode of play. How do you decide to draw or fade your golf shot?
If there is rough all around the back and sides of the green, and the pin is on the right you should fade it as it will spin towards the flag and always aim at the middle of the green then shape it so if for some reason it goes straight it will still be on the green. If the pin is on the left draw it for the same reasons. Hope this helps and good luck. How do you decide to draw or fade your golf shot?pitch and run is your best shot!
